REP means reputation (also known as karma). It measures your individual contribution to Edabit. Submitting challenge resources and receiving upvotes on comments or solutions increases your REP.
If your REP becomes too negative, you'll lose some site privileges, such as commenting.
XP means experience points. It gives learners a real sense of progress and accomplishment. The amount awarded is based on challenge difficulty.
